Blood is donated at various centres around Israel
and, at the time of writing, is transported to the
Blood Bank at Tel Hashomer, about 20 minutes
outside of Tel Aviv. Blood is also donated here
but, as well as this, it is tested, processed, sorted,
stored and then transported around the whole of
Israel in insulated boxes.
The story of the process, showing different
aspects of the work carried out at Tel Hashomer,
is told through a series of striking images.
BLOOD
Blood is the liquid miracle inside all of our
bodies, circulating, transporting oxygen
and nutrients, and removing waste products.
Being essential to life, blood forms a key part
of medical strategies to save lives, and so is
also a key part of the activities of MDA.
